A Tribute to Grandpa
Gary Prine 1937-2016
Tonight it is with a heavy heart that I post this. Early this month Grandpa Gary passed away due to his battle with cancer. Now normally I wouldn't post my personal life on here...BUT Grandpa was the biggest supporter of HLM. He was there from day one and continued to push me to take risks with this company to make me succeed. Grandma and Grandpa were the very first photo shoot I did for my "Couples" album for my portfolio. Grandpa had a background with graphic design, so naturally I went to him to proof all my big projects. Every time I thought about quitting and closing the company down, him and grandma were right there to tell me NO! Many of you knew him as "Grandpa". Whether you knew him for 30 years or 30 minutes, you called him Grandpa. Grandma gave me a bag of stuff of Grandpa's, jackets, shoes, etc. While looking in the bag, I found a photography book that Grandpa had been reading. Now I knew he always had an interest in photography, but this book was no beginner book, It quite advanced. Which makes me realize all the times we had conversations about my work, he was very up to speed on what I'm talking about. Grandpa always supported my company. He never doubted me for a minute. That means the world to me, and I remember that every time I get overwhelmed and ready to throw in the towel. As you read this I ask that you please pray for Grandma Lynn during this time as well. Thank you everyone for taking a sec to read this.
